Baker and environs

After a ROUGH finals week which included my bike being stolen, I was able to escape for a few days up to the N. Cascades. My awesome wife drove me up to Bellingham to meet with Garret Grove.  Thanks a TON to Garret and his wife Bridget for their hospitality and lending me a spot to crash in addition to showing me around Baker and environs.

The Mt Baker Ski Area slack-country gave up the goods on Thursday.

On Friday, it was time to warm me up to Cascade touring with a 5600' tour up to the North Twin Sister. I'm definitely not in the Wasatch anymore and am going to need to figure out a lighter touring setup. Maybe I need to start running 50 miler's like Garret to hang with the Cascade crew.

We got to hike in the shade all day.

The South Twin Sister looking epic. Apparently, a traverse between the two has been attempted but not competed due to poor rock quality.

Muy Delicioso.

Garret getting 'er done.

Looking back from the road.

The snow level was ~3000ft from where we parked the car.
