"Emotion is the Enemy of Rational Argument" - Stephen Dubner

The current debate over health care reform has taken ignorance, close mindedness, and  witch-hunts to a new level. In my opinion, both sides need to get their stories straight.

The "Death Squad" rumors, Nazi-Obama comparisons,  carrying loaded guns to town hall meetings has made opposition positions wreak of ignorance and un-educated bias. Unfortunately, the more something is repeated, the more it is believed regardless of its validity.

El Viejo

After our apartment-scouting trip to Seattle I knew I'd be a mere 1.5 miles from school this fall, so I began a resurrecting a beast of a frame for a commuter bike. I had to frankenstien this bike from the guts of it's twin. The Headset, entire brake system, were scavenged including choping off a derailer bracket and rear brake bracket. I had to invest in some new derailers......but all in all it was pretty lite on $$ put into it. And hose clamps proved invaluable.

In Search of the Lost One

Last winter, I foolishly let a ski of mine be blown off a ridge on Cardiff Pass. Despite my best endzone dive, it slipped through my fingers. Needless to say, I finally found some time to go searching. I found a game trail that led me to the drainage where I suspected it might be. I started a Grid Search. The brush was really thick, but I soon reached the Limestone bands of the Hellgate area.

S. Ridge o' Superior

Made a morning jaunt up the S. Ridge of Mt. Superior with my buddy Mike Allen the other day. I forgot how fun it is.

Ocupado

July has kept me on my toes. I'll try and post some photos from the weekend Kristin and I spent at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and Lake Powell in a bit.

BUT, last weekend, Kristin and I were able to sneak away for a night on the Pfeifferhorn. As always, Kristin took some amazing photos. Enjoy.

This is a vacation?

I've been sitting in the Waheap Marina hotel lobby since 1:00 am.......it's almost 4am. Firewalls (and shitty Dell laptops) have made a simple 20 min download of my work files a three hour endevour.

All work and only a little bit of play.

I'm logging some extra hours at work this weekend so I can float them over some extended "holidays" we'll be taking next week.......

In the mean time, we've been playing with Kristins camera. Here's a shot from the otehr night.

Seattle it IS

Kristin and I just got back from Seattle after a SUCCESSFUL apartment hunting safari. We'll be making the move in 2 trips, 1 in July and 1 in August. On the flight back we flew right by Rainer and Adams. I'm getting SO stoked to play in the Cascades.

Kristins' Canon 30D

3 rainy weeks has lead to some mellow and WET jaunts around LCC. Nothing too crazy, but it's been great to plug a lot of gear.

For Kristins Birthday, we got her one of these:
