Snapdragon Wave Attempt
While skiing Coalpit last year with Jason West, we spotted an incredible line in upper Hogum. Finally we got to check it out. The line seen here in April 2008.

We gained the ridge east of the Pfeiferhorn a little after dawn, and made a quick skate around the south side to meet up with the saddle in Upper Hogum Fork.

Looking over the saddle into Upper Hogum.

I had seen it a few weeks ago and it had looked a little bony. Once we were on top, it looked even bonier.

Without a cord to cut the cornice, we were lookingt at a 10ft - plug-the-hip-on-rocky-spine entrance above some heavy exposure. We opted to ski around it and boot up from the bottom.

We got 2/3's of the way up when we had to move over to the south side of the spine. The snow was super saturated about 6h inches down and we were above some intense exposure, so we called it and decided to ski from our high point.

Our High Point.

A salute to the Heros on our way out around the Pfeif.

By the time we were at the North Col the sun was in FULL force. In the spring the sun can beat down just like in the desert.

I've been thinking about this line for over a year. Even though we didn't get the whole thing, it was great to shmear turns on the lower windlip. Hopefully I'll be back to get it from the top!
